EAT-TV
The Gourmet Musical

Goes To Buffalo!

We are pleased to announce that EAT-TV: The Gourmet Musical by Jim Giancarlo, Darcy Danielson and Jim Malachi will be playing at MusicalFare Theatre in Buffalo, New York from February 27 to March 30, 2003.

This hilarious and timely musical is set in the studio of a small cable TV network: EAT-TV, the first musical food network. The characters are Vito LaGusto, the charming and hunky Italian chef; Cookie Coutrell, the sexy, scheming dessert chef; Spirulina Jones, the hard-line health food chef; Vincent Van Rhine, host of the wine-tasting show Bottoms Up!; Bradley, the ambitious young producer; FM, the hard-working floor manager; and Morty, a fast-food street punk who claims to be Vito’s long-lost twin brother. Each of the chefs has his own on-stage cooking show and in between we see the backstage shenanigans as each gets wind of the fact that a major TV network is scouting EAT-TV.

This is a sure-to-please book musical with only six actors, three musicians and a changeable unit set. It’s unique, it’s tasty, it’s funny, it’s romantic. And it was a huge hit in two long-running productions (1997 and 2001) at Oregon Cabaret Theatre where it originated.

“ EAT-TV is packed with characters as rich and complex as good Cabernet, but as fun and light as a crisp Sauvignon Blanc. The techniques used in cooking up the musical feast are innovative, scrumptious and a heck of a lot fun.” --Dani Dodge, Backstage West

“What good is having your cake if you can’t eat it too? You can do just that and love every minute of it at EAT-TV: The Gourmet Musical now bringing down the house nightly at Oregon Cabaret Theatre. This madcap tour through the backstage world of televised cooking shows is fresh, funny and downright delicious.” --Nancy Golden, Lithiagraph

“There’s one skit about wine-tasting which is the funniest revue skit I’ve seen…Saturday Night Live should be half as good.” --Patrick O’Conner, WBAI Radio, NYC
